not so cooper-ific

I guess I’m considering just ditching the mini.

Got the verdict from aamco:

New transmission = $4026.19

New clutch = $396.65

Trans fluid = $59.28

Labor = $1056.00

But there are also things that I had put off – my estimates:

New tires (4 run-flats [cooper has no spare]) = $800

Brake job = $200-400

Alignment = $50

Looking at a total of around $6800…  but what’ll break next on the cooper?  It almost seems like just ditching it and getting a quality used car makes more sense.  But I really do love that little cooper, though.  Makes me feel completely rotten.

Fix the car. You know you want to. NEVER waste time worrying about what might happen next. If something does happen then you will have the strength to deal with it if and when it occurs. It may be a bad financial hit right now but it is cheaper than having to buy a new car.

Your momma's right: never waste time worrying about what might happen next. You should listen to her!

And to quote my momma: "All you can do is hope for the best, brace yourself for the worst, and, hopefully, when all is said and done you'll be pleasantly surprised"

:)

Hope today's better than yesterday!

I heard that the clutches on the Coopers go out ALL the time. BMW won't fix the design... Something to research.
